Snail's pace

"Snail's pace"
Good Thursday afternoon to everyone.

I hope your weather has been as beautiful as it's been in Pittsburgh...just gorgeous!

I've finally got my yard in shape and feel I'm finally catching up on all the chores!

This week I was able to take a few breaks between chores to punch this wonderful picture of a snail....just to remind myself to slow down a bit and enjoy the simple things in life!

It is a three strand punch, using DMC only!
It measures 9" high by 6 3/4" wide.
It is now available in my cottage Etsy shop:

Let me also take this opportunity to wish you a safe and delightful holiday weekend!

Happy Fourth of July,
Kate

8 Maids a Milking

12 Days of Christmas

Good Monday Morning to everyone.

The days are long but they are certainly a blur!

Popping in today to offer the next Punch to the Twelve days of Christmas.
We are now up to 8.
This is a three strand punch, using DMC for detail and Valdani for the background.

I have many inquiries on whether I have the full set. I don't, sorry! My original plan was a punch a month so I have been designing only one a month.

They are all the same size, and the colors blend so that they will
fit together nicely when we are done.

They are available as a digital download.
Pattern Printed alone by snail mail.
You may also choose whether you would like it already printed on weavers cloth, or opt for the pattern with a blank fat quarter of weavers cloth.

The new pattern is now available in my Cottage Etsy Store:

Wishing every a wonderful first day of summer! ENJOY,

Kate

Winding Down

Winding down.. I wanted to pop in and show you a little bit more of the progress on the wall hanging. It's getting there...Almost done!
I would say a little bit of green is needed and the hanger at the top. And I'll call it finished.
It has been a pleasure to work on. The freedom it has allowed me after strick line punching was a blast!

On the Punch frame today is another folk art piece...Inspiration from a Fraktur.
I would like to do the same as the wall hanging to finish this piece. but on a smaller scale. I had it in mind as I designed it. Below is a watercolor of the piece I quickly sketched & painted over Memorial day weekend.

So glad you're following along..Have a wonderful evening,
Kate

It's a very busy day here at the cottage.

I'm loving this one. Love the colors fits right into my home.

You'll have to wait!

although you may substitute the background for black Valdani if you wish.

It is a 3 strand punch.
Also I've included a coffee stain recipe, if you would like to age it.

Inspiration

I came across a women called Jude Hill. She does things with fabric that is just amazing!
I thought, well I have been trying, to figure out another way to finish the Punch needle models.
I like things framed, boxed, etc. but my favorite is the mat itself. I feel, no.... I think, fabric kind of needs fabric to ground it...I think?  So because of Jude it gave me the idea, it would be wonderful as a wall hanging...fabric within fabric...form within form.. I am playing with two of the punch models and adding it to a wall hanging...I have begun to embroider, quilt and just have a blast with it, freedom! It let's me break out of the box, create a free form,  relax and not be so boxed in. I hope you enjoy it as much as I am enjoying doing it. Thank you Jude for your wonderful inspiration. If you get a chance head on over to her blog.  http://spiritcloth.typepad.com/

Let me know what you think. I would love your feedback good or bad!

Have a wonderful creative day,
Kate

Sailing

"Sailing"

Good Thursday morning to everyone!
I am hoping everyone had a wonderful Memorial day weekend. Mine was very quiet and simple, worked a little bit in the garden, dabbled and doodled in my sketchbook. Very relaxing.

There is a new offering in my Etsy cottage shop. A pattern dedicated to summer. Pale in color, simple palette, This would be wonderful lightly tea stained, for a antique look.
I like to picture the patterns in their original colors so you can see the finished piece as coded. But for the finishing anything goes. I do believe I will stain lightly getting darker towards the corners.

The pattern comes Color Coded using DMC only!
It measures 7" high by 5 1/4" wide.
It is a 3 strand punch.

Grab a cup of coffee head on over to the shop and browse the many patterns available.
Keep in mind you can purchase it as a download or printed. I can also enlarge my patterns for use with rug hooking on linen or rug punching on Monks cloth.
Email or message me for details and pricing.
