Purse-Nuno Felt

A GOOD THURSDAY MORNING TO YA!

Just popping in to show you a project i'm in the middle of. Since I made the purse using the punch of Ivy & Lace. It got me thinking or my imagination rolling on what to do with the piece of Nuno felt I made years ago. I never had the heart to cut it,  i've decided to make it into a purse or tote.

Detail: Embroidery floss wrapped around cording or rope.

A lining of black and white floral.. from a favorite dress I outgrew.

What to do with the Handle? I found it was a bit to long so instead of cutting it I doubled it over for extra padding.

I think I will add a complimentary cloth to cover it up.

Posting more as I go along...see you soon!

Have a wonderful Memorial day Weekend!

Labor Day

Labor Day weekend!

Labor day always marks a new season for me,
and like many others enters into my favorite time of year

 FALL!

The earth tone colors are magnificent!
The smell of wood burning and the nature taking its last stand.
 I feel cosy and warm!
Try and take the time to sit back a bit and wonder at all the happenings of the summer.

Creating is a private world
the Happiness is not in the completion,
 it's in the Journey!

Wishing everyone a wonderful Weekend!

In my Easter Bonnet

For all my check and strip customers, here's a little bit.

This little bunny is literally sitting in her Easter Bonnet.

In My Easter Bonnet

The first of the bunnies for this year.

This Winkle is one of a kind. The little bunny is made of paper mache, with a hardened linen collar. The bonnet is hand woven with the use of  raffia covered wire and jute. The stand is a brass candle holder, hand painted without the use of stencils, in the checks and stripes I'm known for. Thought I would bring a little bit of it back, by request of  customers.

$39.00 + travelling fees, US only, sorry! Also PA sales tax, if you live in PA.

In my Easter Bonnet, is for sale., If you have any questions or interest please feel free to email me at: KATE

This & That

(I haven't come up with a name yet, any suggestions?)
How about: Politically Incorrect, Lewis. Let me go smoke my Pipe!
He is getting there.....Sir Caterpillar and the little snowman looking thing will eventually be the hookah pipe. I am working on 5 sculptures at one time, It works out well, Tidbits are added while the other one's are drying.

This is a pic of the spindle man base painted he is finished and ready to go! Am I repeating myself, I will post finished pics after the customer picks it  up.

In the Studio: More work on the sculptures. I was having so much fun with them yesterday, I didn't get anything else done. A must is the package for the event, it must go out tomorrow!

In the Cottage: The sun is shinning, which is amazing in Pittsburgh, looks like Spring is springing. A friend needs some sewing done, hemming pants. I will get to that today! Plus the sewing of the door pocket. Tonight!

Wishing all, a wonderful day,
Kate
