Hello everyone, The Last of my Fall/Halloween patterns for this season. 

This is a Punch Needle Pattern, The Model was done on Weavers cloth, using 2 & 3 strands of floss.

It measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Both the 2 and 3 strand can be worked using your red 3 strand CTR Needle.

It comes color coded using DMC only for suggested colors, and also includes the thread count and where to use it.

Amongst the Patch Rug

Yesterday I posted the punch needle version of my new pattern.

Today I’d like to offer the rug hooking/punching pattern available also in my Etsy shop.

This was hooked using yarns and other fibers such as roving, and wool strips.

You can hook yarn instead of using the oxford if you prefer. I hooked this model using primitive hookers linen & a hookers hook. If you are using the oxford punch I do suggest the smallest needle which I believe is the # 13 for the detail work.

I decided to add the black background on this one so I could mount it to hangers for my front door in the fall. You can do the same. Just extend the line from the outer edges. The pattern does not come with this so you can finish the cats head to its form like the below post in the punch needle model.

Trick or Treat is done!

And a good Monday Morning to everyone. I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Mine was relaxing and  enjoyable. I did a little punching on another Halloween Punch, (a hint Melinda returns). Color coded and got everything set up for the Trick or Treat punch. Popped in on Facebook to see what everyone was up too, plus watched a few episodes of Dr Quinn, Medicine woman...which is like Little House on the Prairie, a welcome change from the world today. 

Back to the Punch....Trick or Treat is now available in my Cottage Etsy Shop. This is a larger punch than I normally do 8 1/2" by 6 1/2". so you have the choice of  3 strand or 6 strand it may be worked in either or both...whichever you prefer! Its very colorful using DMC about 12 separate colors with no line work! The house walls are Valdani but could be switched with a DMC neutral of your choice. Rambling on so enough said. The size is the same 7 1/4" high by 5 3/4" wide.

The pallette is the same for both.

Magic

I'm not sure of how it looks elsewhere but today it's Fall in Pittsburgh, the fog in the morning, the chill in the air, and a small amount of leaves and apples falling from the trees...Wahoo I think its arrived! Definitely my favorite time of year, I get so excited! There is one thing missing the smell of burning wood coming from my neighbors fireplaces! Love it!

Ok, back to the Punch.

This is a three strand punch, it comes with a color coded. I wanted to point out that what looks pink around the edges is actually a soft orange, it's a wonderful color from

Valdani  #JP 6, it's 100% Colorfast, Hand dyed Thread. I use the number 12 it fits into any tight spots and is great for the detail that as you know I love.

Well I never know whether to stain a piece or not stain a piece.

I guess what it really boils down to is a personal preference.

Two different feels?

As a finishing bonus. I'm adding my coffee stain recipe to the pattern that I use to stain many of my projects.You can dilute the amount needed to get a weak dye or use it full strength. Dip it, or brush it on. It also gives you this wonderful goo in the bottom of the jar, which with imagination can be used as a cakey, dirty areas on  boards, cards even brushed on areas of the cloth for a dirty grunge look.

Jack O  feels very comfortable attached to his old Fishing basket. Shhhh.... don't let him know that he has a wire fed through between the punch and the wool backing so I can remove him at any point in time and replace him with a more seasonal design.

Good afternoon everyone...Spend the morning in the office, mailing orders.. To all you wonderful people that help me keep my business going. Thank you!

I'm in for a busy day today,working on new patterns and ideas for finishing and new uses for punch needle. I have come up with a few soon to be posted. 

For today I have another new Pattern in my shop. Calling this one In the moonlight...Its a three strand punch that measures 5 x5. It has a color code using Valdani for the moon and part of the pumpkin, and DMC for the rest.  Do stop in and check out all the patterns I believe there are more than 50 in there now, and more to come!

Good morning everyone, if anyone lives in Pittsburgh...the weather here has been a little bit more like Fall without the gorgeous colors. We've had lots of rain and cooler weather. I don't like to jump forward but being in the pattern business I kind of have to be a few months ahead so forgive me for pushing the seasons.  

Things to come: I am thinking of posting finishing ideas for punch needle. It's been brought to my attention by many of my friends and family on what to do with the finished punches. So stay tuned as I finish the posting of the pattern, In a few days, I will then post an idea on how and what to do with it. I'm hoping that I can dig deep into my imagination and come up with some different ideas. Wish me luck!

This is a new punch needle pattern taken from a sculpture i did last year. 

It is fairly large punch 11" x 8 1/2" . It comes with a color code and placement. A black and white drawing and a reversed drawing for transferring onto fabric. I am now offering the ability to purchase the items either from a Jpg download, available to you immediately upon purchase. Or by snail mail,  printed Pattern only, a Printed pattern plus a fat quarter of weavers cloth, Or the printed pattern with the drawn reversed image already for you printed on a fat quarter of weavers cloth.

This is a image of the original Sculpture also named Home James, made using paper mache a twig, leather and antique clock parts for wheels. 

New for Fall

Good morning!

October 1st,  Wow where did this year go..  

This morning it truly looks and feels like fall.

A wonderful day to work a little bit on the computer and then to package up ornaments for the up and coming Bedford, PA fall festival. I will be there this Friday and Saturday, in the Anderson House Antiques. Come join us for this special event.

Punch Needle Patterns

Good morning!

It's a chilly day in Pittsburgh today.  Fall is in the air. 

Plenty to work on today, as is every day.  I have Winkles that are are looking for there finishing touches, and a hooked rug on the hoop. I am doing some research on Black wax ornaments for Christmas...but they will be of my own designs. Interested, keep checking in for the finished results.
